Reentry into USA with valid I-94?
I have a question for experts and/or experienced:
With a valid I-94 can one reenter the USA from Canada? I know this was
doable previously, but heard it's changed recently. Is this true?
Thanks.

Re: Reentry into USA with valid I-94?
Generally, it is, if you DID NOT try to obtain a visa in a US Consulate in
Canada and where denied.
Do you still have a valid visa in your passport?
see http://www.ins.gov/graphics/hditravelcanada.htm for more info

Re: Reentry into USA with valid I-94?
Thanks Gene for your reply.
I realized that my question was not formulated properly. Your reply
seems to mean that someone can reenter the USA with a valid I-94 if he
did not try to get a visa in Canada and denied. Is this what you mean?
This someone is not me. His US visa has expired, but I-94 is still
valid. Will he be allowed back in the USA with his I-94?
Thanks again for your answer.

Re: Reentry into USA with valid I-94?
Jian I contacted the US immigration at buffalo border about 2 days back regarding automatic revalidation and they said that you can enter back into US with valid I 94 and expired visa as long as you do not apply for a US visa in canada, just make sure you have all the documents possible with you. Also you should not be a citizen of one of the countries from the state department's list of states sponsoring terrorism. Good luck.
