Question regarding letter
Hello! In October of 2003, I married my boyfriend (a citizen of India)
and we filed his petition based on marriage. Well soon after, he was
becoming more and more emotionally abusive, which he now attributes to
being at the lowest point in his life and he was not happy in general.
Well, whatever the case may be, we got divorced. He hired an attorney
and his employer decided to sponsor his H1B. Apparently last week he
received a letter from the Detroit field office saying we had an
interview on March 9th. We're confused because his attorney said the
previous petition shouldn't be a problem. Was this just sent in error
because they didn't get the information? What would be the thing to do
here?

Ignore the letter. You are no longer married to this man and thus have no reason to attend an interview with him or even be concerned about his immigration efforts.

hi, i think my situation is a bit similiar with your ex. My hospital
filed I-140 for me before I got marry, then I was divoced. My I-140 was
approved, but my lawyer also filed marry based green card for me.
anyway, make long story short, my I-485 was denied, because they said my
I-751 was pending... so i guess it depends on if ou want to help your ex
or not, i don't think he will get H1 visa because he already is
conditional grren card holder...so he needs to go to interview..but
you...it's up to you if you want to go....
I am not sure if everyone is the same, but that's my situation...so even
through my hospital helped me applied, i am still deny because my
pending I-751....i am still waiting my interview for 3 years now.
I hope this help, anyone let me know if i might be wrong about
this...thanks : )

Firstly, I agree with Ian -- your situation is nothing like that of the OP.
Secondly, you're AOS was denied because you had a pending application to remove conditions??? The last time I checked, you need to have been approved for AOS *before* you can apply to remove conditions.

Re: Question regarding letter
Well I suppose I have a bigger heart than what is necessary. He's
getting married in August and it's an arranged marriage, and
personally, I feel bad for the girl. It wasn't up to her who her
parents chose for her and I don't want things to be bad for her. I know
I don't even know her, but at the same time, I just don't think she
needs or deserves to be punished for any of it. She's a dentist and she
could be very successful here. I think she might actually deserve to be
here too. I know it sounds nuts for me to think or feel this way, but I
really don't begrudge anyone of happiness, even if it is him ;-)

Wait wait, she might deserve to be here? How is she here now? If shes not a citizen or green card holder already, him adjusting isnt really going to help her out for another.... (and this is a rough guess).... ten years or so?
I'm confused.
