Reason doctors have to be wary as was reported in our journal last month a GP in Wales gave a letter supporting a schizophrenic to visit Australia who went there and stabbed someone. He has been suspended pending a full investigation. Sorry Ian not nonsense this is reality.
Have you got a link to that journal article about that case? I live in Australia and work in the medical field, so would be interested to read it.

I never said they were... you really should read the response I gave you and not assume information not included!

You specifically wrote "If you did anything bad in the US..." You can't even keep your own story straight!

Are you using the term "immigration interview" in its most general sense, in which case 'visa interview' might have been more appropriate? The OP is applying for a B-2 visa.

Yes - an interview for an immigration benefit!

dorothy if you are in the medical field have a look at the guidance issued by the AMC for these kinds of letters where you are.... it will be very similar to the UK, essentially if you write something it carries weight hence thats why they are asked for but on the flip side due to the weight they carry if you write something and it goes pear shaped then you will be the fall guy. thats why the GP in Wales has probably had his career significantly curtailed by that letter.

Plenty of people have had medical letters written for them as part of the visa process by their GP's. Please stop scaremongering.
