Question about work permit
I know that if I'd like to work in US I need authorization. While being
there as a tourist can I apply for such a certificate if somebody would like
to hire me? Thank You for any suggestions

Depends on your qualifications. Do you have a Bachelor's degree? If so, in
what subject?

Re: Question about work permit
On June of 2003, I will have completed my Master of Science in Management
and Economics at Gdansk University of Technology in Poland. I have also
evaluated B. Sc. in Management and Economics by World Education Services
with the result of Title of Licentiate. Do I have any chances to acquire for
work certificate in US without going back to embassy in my country? Thank
You for any suggestions

Absolutely not. If you enter theUS on a tourist visa or under the Visa
Waiver Pilot Program, you cannot apply for a change of status while in the
US: If you want to work in the US, you must apply for the relevant visa
BEFORE you come to the US.

Well actually if you apply for a b1/b2 tourist visa and get one you can go to the US for a period of 6 months to a year. (easier to get than a working visa)Currently the rules are that you can look for work and if offered you can then apply for a change of status from B to H1b. This visa is the sponsorship visa valid for 3 years with a possible extension to 6.
You are however not allowed to work when on the B visa.
Hope this helps
