Default Question about Permanent Residency and Naturalization Application

A couple of questions and maybe some more...lol

1. I, the USC, and my husband who entered as K-1, got married in
December of 2001. We filed for AOS on January 29th, 2002... If we
get the interview done and his green card gets processed, when does
the countdown of permanent residency start? Is it from the time we
mailed the AOS or from the time the green card was processed?

2. If my husband decides to apply for citizenship, when does the
three-year eligibility start counting?... Let's say, he receives his
greencard in 2004, (at this point, we will be celebrating our 3-yr
wedding anniversary), does this mean he is already eligible to apply
for citizenship or does he have to wait three years from 2004 (the
time he got his green card) so then, he can only apply in 2007?

Thanks for clearing this up for me.

Default Re: Question about Permanent Residency and Naturalization Application

It's from the date you become a permanent resident. In your case, the 2007
date

Andy.
