Question about EAD
Hi,
The company I was employed with filed my I-485 in November of 2001. I
was laid off within 180 days and thereafter applied and got an EAD.
This EAD expires on Jan 1st of 2003. After much applying I finally got
a job and the start date is 1/6/03.
Apparently EAD renewals are no longer being done the same day, and
processing in VT is taking a month to 2. So, my questions are:
Can I start my new job while the EAD renewal is being processed?
And
Has anyone else experienced this predicament?
And
Does anyone have any idea how long this is taking in the INS Newark NJ
office?
Thanks!

i think you have to have an EAD in hand in order to work. So you will have to
delay your start date until you get the EAD...
