Default Query regarding US visa

Hello All,

I have a query regarding US visa.

I have been to US for my masters and stayed there from 2006 to 2010.
After completion of my masters with sufficient practical training i
came back to India in 2010. While comming back from US i have not
closed all my credit cards and bank accounts and have not paid some
credit card bills. Do the above things will effect to my business
visa??...do the visa officer will check my history through my SSN (Social Security Number).... I will be attending the US business visa interview soon.

Please let me know if you need any other details.

Thanking You,
Rani

Unpaid bills will show on your credit report. I am sure that it will be noted by the immigration officers. What effect that information may have on your visa application would be speculation, but not a good effect, going by what you wrote.

They don't do a credit check on you, and why would they? How you manage your finances is a civil affair, nothing to do with immigration law.

Unless there is a warrant out for you or some sort of court judgement for the debt, I'm sure I've read about unpaid parking tickets coming back to haunt people.

Generally, not paying your bills is a civil matter rather than a criminal one. Of course, if you took out $50k in credit the day before you left, that might be considered a fraudulent criminal matter. These issues can also be state dependent. Nevada, IIRC, is one state where not paying your bills can easily be escalated to a criminal charge.

US immigration authorities usually have no interest in civil judicial matters.
