I am applying for an L1 visa. The petition went in 3 weeks ago. Does anyone know the approx turn around time? How long is it before you normally get the interview request and next stage?

Probably 4-6 weeks or so.


If the petition was submitted 3 weeks ago, then the next stage is to apply for the visa once the petition is approved. You're not going to get an interview until after you have applied for the visa.

Did you pay for it to be expedited? I did and here's my timeline from last year:

8th August - Petition Submitted
14th August - Request for Evidence issued by USCIS
9th September - Request for Evidence response received by USCIS (attorney took longer than I would have liked to complete the response but they wanted to be thorough which I'm glad for!)
22nd September - Petition Approved and approval notice issued
6th Oct - Approval Notice received
7th Oct - Visa interview
13th Oct - Received passport with visa and flew to MIA

Everyone's will be different but hopefully this helps a little. With an expedited service and a RFE it was around ~9 weeks from submitting the petition.
