If it makes you feel any better you didn't miss it by one day - they
are most likely not accepting anything received today either. This
was a perfect catch-22.

We expect to see revised announcement around time when (by no
coincidence) the prices go up July 30th...stay tuned.

Just our luck!!!

Our lawyer told us back in February we would probably have our GCs by July, looks like it will be October at the very earliest.

Apparently the association of immigration lawyers is going to file a class action suit to prevent the INS from taking this arbritary action. Thats what my attorneys said today anyway. However, surely by the time they do that it'll be October anyway. What a total bummer.

Thats what mine said too, although she was uncertain when the arbitraition will happen.

I've pulled our immigration medicals which was scheduled for tomorrow and will wait to see what transpires. Anyone got any jobs going overseas. Not many immigrants going to the UK is there

Earlier today I could have just walked away with what I could carry.
I am concerned for the impact it may have on my eldest daughters green card.
Our visa category has been current for so long that it just beggars belief that it suddenly isn't.
It will probably mean we have to pay international fees this year:curse:
but I am worried that when October rolls around we may find our category has been hit by retrogression.
She will be nearly 19 by then. If, at the end of her college days she chooses to leave the US, that's fine. I just hate to think that she may have no alternative.

So, having just begun to feel more settled here, we are having to consider the prospect of going back if October doesn't bring good news.
It is so unsettling and has an impact on everything.

But at long as you guys can apply before she's 21 she can still be included with your applications, right?

But honestly, what a nightmare...

Only if we file the adjustment of status which we can't do if there are no visa numbers avaiable.

Surely it can't take another 18 months? I mean, you've been waiting YEARS already!

But then again, one my sons has been stuck in name-check for over 2 years now, so nothing surprises me with these people...

Our visas run out in 2 weeks time but we were lucky enough to get our EADs and APs in March, and hopefully our medicals will still be valid by the time EB-1 category becomes current again.

I'm not sure what we will do when our driving licences expire in August as we will not have the requisite 6 points required by NJ DMV. Looks like I will be having fun and games with the lovely people at Trenton DMV again shortly.

Does anybody know how this affects those going through Consular Processing?

My niece had her case completed September 2006 and was just waiting for packet 4 and interview when retrogression hit.

Then she was told a couple of weeks ago (by the US Embassy in london) that she should expect to get an interview appointment for this month, July.

Now this has happened, does anyone know if it's likely there's a visa number already allocated for her?

Sorry for all those affected, what a bummer
