is it possible to transfer credit rating?
Hello,
After 5 years in the US we have built up a decent credit rating - is there anyway to take this with us back to the UK. We do not have any property /investments or even active back accounts there anymore. We currently bank with Fleet Bank (now Bank of America) and are wondering if we transfered our a/c s to HSBC if that would help.
Thank you

From what I know you can have an international credit check done. This will show you credit history for the last 5 yrs I think, maybe 7 years.....
I don't think that transfering bank accounts will help, I think have an account with the same bank for a long time would be more positive, but I may be wrong....
Sorry if this doesn't help much, Just moved back to the UK and know international credit check is pretty much standard now.....
good luck..

When I moved back to the UK in Feb, I couldn't get any bank here I aspproached to check my Dutch credit rating - they all said it was immaterial...
But if you push them hard, they'll probably do one.
