Default police certificate...online??

Hello all!!

ok, if you read what was in here before, forget all that...i found it obscurely....

the police station says online that:

"How can I get a "Police clearance certificate" / "Certificate of good conduct"?

We have received many queries like this from people who have been making visa or work applications for other countries. The UK police do not issue "certificates of good conduct" or "police clearance certificates", however in our experience foreign embassies will generally accept a police reply under the subject access provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 as a suitable equivalent."

this isn't going to mess anything up, is it??

just curious....

Forgive me if i misunderstand this, I'm still on my first cup of coffee for the day.
The UK police WILL issue a copy of your public police record which is what the American consulate require, if you have or are living in the UK.
You cannot apply for it online, you have to go through your local police station and fill in a request for it and pay £10. They forward it to Scotland Yard who in turn send the Police Report directly back to you.
It takes approx. 40 days to receive the report.

I work for the Police Force here in Scotland and have got 2 Certificates ,
one from Local Police Station and the other from Scotland Yard, both have no
convictions or anything held about me on the system....I been a very good
girl Anyway the one that comes back from Scotland Yard has an imprint
through it so if you try to photocopy it, it will come up with Fraud all
over it ! Hence the reason for security !

They are excepted in US Embassy cause I checked it out !
