Point of Entry?

Point of Entry?
Just a quick question,
I will be flying into LA on my way to see my baby, with my final
destination being Newark New Jersey. I'm assuming that my point of entry
will then be Los Angeles? Does this mean any documents that I need to send
to them later on will have to go through LA? Or can I still go through NYC?
This is all very confusing, and I'd like to know what I'm supposed to do
before I get there
Thanks
Michael

Re: Point of Entry?
You're going to see your girlfield and you are out of the country and she is inside of the US. What documents do you need to send to the Port of Entry? I don't understand.
Unless ...
You have a visa of some sort (K1) and you are finally arriving in the US to activate the visa and to marry your fiancee. Your first port of entry into the US will be Los Angeles but you will be living in the jurisdiction of the NYC INS office. If this scenario is correct, then ...
Your passport and brown envelope will be taken from you at LAX and your visa will be processed there. Allow enough time for the processing between flights. 2 hours would be good. There is nothing for you to do after this processing but fly to Newark International Airport, disembark, collect luggage and kiss your intended hello. You will file as normal after your marriage at the NYC INS.

(Who is a bit of a feminist and hates men calling women baby Yuck!

this struck me as curious, so i've taken the liberty of responding.
firstly -a bit of a feminist? you are either are or aren't. i'm a male
completely in support of and understanding of feminist issues, but i don't
believe calling your significant other baby has anything to do with this.
i'm not sure, but i'd guess that most people who use this term don't do so
with the intention of belittling their partner and insinuating they are an
infant. secondly, in my experience, i know of and often hear women calling
their male partner baby. its a unisex term of endearment used as a slang and
not to be taken literally.
anyway, my fiance calls me baby and i'm quite fond of it.
i guess its like some people believing that moses actually parted the red
sea and others enjoying the tale as good fiction.

Re: Point of Entry?
The point of entry has nothing to do with where you will be processed
for AOS, if that is the question.
