Default please!!!, ingo, help, extension of stay

hi,
can anybody answer my questions,
I came on J1 visa in June '02, aplied for extension, approved, then
aplied for another extension, which was denied because of lawyer's mistake,
(application was filled out wrong)
I got my denial notice 3 weeks after 6 months had passed (these 6 months I
asked for in my I-539), in denial notice they gave me 30 days for re-open,
but there was nothing that I started accruing my illegal presense here,
if I overstayed my stay here while I was waiting for their response, have I
already exceeded 180 days of illegal presense here starting with the date of
applying for extension which was denied,
anyway,
I'm going to leave soon, and it will be something like 45 days after the
date of denial notice,
how soon can I come back, 4 months is ok?, or maybe longer,
is all that denial a reason for refusing me entry to u.s. at POE,

can anybody help me with this,
thanks
visi

The 180 days didn't start with the day of application, but with the day
the application was denied.

You should not come back that quickly. As a rule of thumb, I would wait a
year. The denial won't be a reason for refusing entry per se, but it will
cause questions.
