Please help with form filling out....

I am getting ready to file the I130 spousal package, and am unsure of what to report
for some of the questions on a couple of the forms. Can someone please help?
1...on the 1485 form, the question reads "I am applying for an adjustment to
permanent resident status because.." There are a list of options, but I am unsure
as to which I should use for my daughter and I. I came to the US as a visitor, not
with the K1 Visa. Therefore, which one do I use?
2...what is my current INS status, as I did not enter with a I94 visa or anything?
I'm a pretty intelligent person, but those forms and questions are mind boggling.
