Default Please any help! Really worried!

Hi,

I'm a 20 year old actor from the UK. I was charged last year with
Deception, i sold some things that were fake on ebay 11 of them the
charge was for £205.00 deception.

I was give a community order 100 hrs.

Now here is my problem. I have only today found out i will need to
apply for a visa. I have booked 5 days in LA next week with a friend.
There is no time for me to apply for a Visa.

here is the tricky part

So if i were to tick the no box on the forms handed out for "any
criminal conviction". And i was not asked any questions and got into
the USA. If later in my life i were to get an acting job in the USA,
would they no when i applied for a work visa that i had lied when i
previously enterd the states?.

any advice would help.

Quite possibly, no Rehabilitation of Offenders Act in the US.

Is it a CIMT, see

Considering the progress that's being made with data sharing, the intense focus on the US's new Department of Homeland Security (now controls immigration) and the (?) probability that your particular field of work will bring you to relocate to the US, you have to ask yourself the Dirty Harry question:

Do you feel lucky, punk?

First, look up your charges to see if your is a CIMT. If it is I don't think there's a person here that can tell you it's a good idea to go on your trip. Lying to Immigration is one of those little things that can come back on you in the worst way.

It sucks, I know.

Agreed. Now, my question is was I one of the eleven unfortunate souls who bought that fake merchandise?

Thanks for the replies.

My concern is not getting past immigration for my 5-day holiday. I'm
almost certin they don't have a computer with every countries Criminal
records on.

My real worry is if i tick the no box and successfully get into LA,
spend my 5 day break and come home (I'm sure this will be fine). But
say in 2, 3 or even 4 years time i'm lucky enough to be cast in an
American production, and they offer the chance to work on a O visa,
would it pop up that i had sneaked into the USA before and lied on my
Wavier.

This is a really big decison for me!. I'm gutterd.

My two cents worth = never lie on any immigration or visa forms....period.

I have no doubt you could get in for your holiday. My post was written with your future concerns in mind.
On all the visa forms, at some point, you will be asked about arrests (all) and entries to the US. If you lie now, you'll have to lie forever, and risk someone else putting the truth together.

One small lie, when discovered, tends to make them disbelieve everything else you've offered.

Well they will know you travelled to the US.

They know you used the VWP

They know you were ineligible to do so due to your Police Records.

What happens next would be an interesting discussion at the Embassy, you might be lucky, you might not. Your call.

I think so but read the link

You have to supply your Police Report. And declare anything missing.

Every Country that I am aware of, maybe not within the EU?

Your passport is machine readable, once your in the system all your entries are recorded.

If you get passed to secondary immigration I am sure that is coded as well.

Sooner or later, it will come out. For some short-term work visa, maybe not.
But if you become a celebrity and some magazine finds out and prints an
article about it, you could be in trouble. USCIS officers read, too.

If you apply for a Green Card, there is a criminal background check.
