You could also ry the INS website. They have several fillable forms which you can fill out and print off.

You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to be able to fill them out as they are in PDF format.

Here is a link to the forms page on the INS website:

Good Morning

Was wondering if one of the owners of this news group could contact me. Might have
something to add to this question, but would rather talk to the owner by email first.

There are no "owners" of the newsgroup - it's a public forum. Ask away

Okay hope this rain on anyones parade.

When I first starrted looking into this K-1 visa I downloaded all the forms from the
INS site. Printed them out and found that even with my small neat printing, I could
not fit all the info they wanted into the spaces provided. My wife is from Dominican
Republic so there are like 4 names to each person, the addresses are like street #20
house #24, barrio 24 de abril, santo domingo dominican republic. makes for a real
mess. Now she is my wife and we are going the K-3 route. need 325 for the 130 325 for
the 129 .... I am typing the same info like 20 times.

So I designed an overlay. I would print the form out and then insert it back into the
print and print the over lay It worked well for me because I knew how to use it. Some
of my friends have used it also, problem is it is very time concuming.

But one of the problems was if the paper does not feed exactly the same each time,
then it is no good. So I designed a program that will ask you all the questions.
Store them in a data base and then populate the forms and print them. it is working
and I did my final forms with this program. I will be at the INS field office in
Buffalo on Monday and they will be reviewing my package for the 130 to go to Vermont
and the 129 to go to chicago. If they accept the package (which they told me earlier
they would). It is something that I am considering selling for about $20. I will then
do the same with the forms for the AOS.

If everything goes well I hope to have my wife and step daughter here in Niagara
Falls by Christmas Jerry [email protected]

Why don't you just download Acrobat Reader© for free and it fills in the fillable
forms no problem. I have Acrobat 5.0© and it even saves them with the changes
that you made.

Couple reasons,

1) On every page it has my name, address, ssn, and a bunch of repeated info. Why
should I type the same info 4 times just for the 325A. (And then another 4
for the 129F)
2) I type the info once and the program did the rest, made it handy when my wife
signed her maiden name to the form the first time.
3) When it comes time for the AOS I can use the same info and just update it and once
again, it will print out all the forms for me.
4) Not all forms are fill able yet.
5) If they update the form between uses then you have to refill it out. I just need
to load the new form into the program and adapt the changes without having to
reenter all the info on it again.
6) there are some blocks on the fillable PDF files that will not handle the long city
names in some Latin America countries. This can be easily handled with a program
that can change the fonts size.

Basically I started this before they started the fillables forms, but only recently
decided to get serious about finishing the code and making it more automatic so
others could use it.

FYI on the G325A, adobe automatically fills in all 4 forms when you fill in the
first one.

in the time it took you to write the program, you could have had everything all
filled out and printed using the fillables. LOL

it
    > and once again, it will print out all the forms for me.

if you have adobe acrobat 5 full version, you can save all the forms filled out, then
just open them and change the info if you need to later.

    > 4) Not all forms are fill able yet.

all the ones needed for marriage-based applications are. not all are on the INS site,
but some of us have created fillable ones from the online forms, and there are some
websites out there that have the entire set made into fillable forms too.

    > 5) If they update the form between uses then you have to refill it out. I just need

Why would you need to use the forms more than once? You only need to submit them
once...and after you have the green card etc, you will have no need for INS forms at
all. Also, when they update them, they still accept the previous version for quite a
while before disallowing it, so you don't have to always have the absolute latest
version of a form.

Adobe acrobat supports font changes on the fillable forms.

This is true but it was for some friends that were not as computer saavey

Again this is true but a legal full version is over $200.

This was more an experiment for some friends but took on another life. In my search
for timelines and extra info that might be of use for the process, I came across a
site that was selling the PDF forms and an instructions book for $50. So who knows if
there might not be another life for this. Also for the lawyers office that fill in
the forms, if they needed to only type a name one time and it appeared on all the
forms then it could save time for them and the applicant.

Jerry, Sorry to bust your bubble again but the AILA already has a software program
that has one set of qeustions then it fills out all the forms with out the lawyer
having to do any thing. They only allow thier members to use the software because if
the public got hold of it they would n't need the lawyers to fill out the forms. You
can also use Gator to keep all the info for you, then all you have to is click and
drag. Dennis

I have 5.0 and when I fill in a form and attempt to save it it specifically says:

Your changes cannot be saved to the new file by Acrobat Reader. Saving changes
(including information entered into a form) is only possible with the full
version of Acrobat. Do you want to continue?

and, IIRC, the full version of Acrobat costs hundreds of $$$.

The I-485 (AOS) form I just downloaded is not fillable.

As a programmer myself I know that sometimes it doesn't matter if something has
already been done. It's the joy of being able to do it yourself that drives most of
us. And the sense of accomplishment that comes with making it work.

If someone else can make use of it and you get to make a bit of money then all the
better, you get a bit of something else for the effort you put in.

I get the feeling that this is why Jerry wrote the prog in the first place, cause he
could, simple as that.

Programmers are a funny bunch sometimes

Were I work, I am more a hardware type of guy. You are right that a lot of what I
learn is by doing projects like this. The programmers I deal with at work are indeed
a very strange and funny bunch, but they are extremely good at what they do.
