Passport - Leaving the US shortly after naturalization
A friend of mine wants to take a trip travel outside the US,
leaving only two days after his naturalization oath ceremony.
What are his options regarding the US passport:
Can he get the passport via some express service?
Does it take longer for a first time passport?
Can he get the US passport overseas?
Can he travel and return just with his certificate of
naturalization ?
leaving only two days after his naturalization oath ceremony.

I do not think you can get a passport that fast.
But I think he can do this: If he still has his native passport (if he is
allowed to keep it) he can travel on that passport. He can enter the United
States again with his Naturalization Certificate.
If he has no other travel documents (passport), he will have to wait for a
U.S. passport to arrive before he can leave the country, unless you are
going to Canada or Mexico.

I was in the same situation after my naturalization, so I applied for the passport as soon as my naturalization ceremony was finished. Of course I expedited it and received my passport after 3 days.
So, personally I wouldn't get involved with other ways in order to get the passport soon.
