Hi all,

I have my AOS appointment (Honolulu office) in May 3rd.. My passport expires on
April 31, 2000.

I already called the local consulate, and they said that yes they can give me a new one,
but it takes around 2 weeks to receive it.

Any ideas on what to do in this case?

Thanks all for your input, Nalu.

Sounds like you have plenty of time to renew it now.

Andy.

Well seems to me that there are more than 2 weeks time between now and May 3rd. Why not
just get it renewed now.

Let's see if I got this straight.

Your AOS interview is May 4.

Your passport expires April 31.

Today is Feb 23.

According to you it only takes 2 weeks to get the new passport.

There are 9 weeks between Feb 23 and April 31.

You think, "Gee I just don't know what to do. I have 9 weeks before my passport expires
and it takes 2 weeks to get a new passport. Let me post this question to a NG and see if
any of the really smart people can help me with this dilemma cause I am just no smart
enough to figure this one out all by my little lonesome self."

Personally I think you should call the INS hotline and ask them what you should do. Even
they should be smart enough to figure this one out.

Obviously you are not. Maybe you should get a lawyer for this one.
