Hello,

I'm a Brit living in Canada. I've recently sent off an application for my daughter's first UK passport and for mine to be renewed (to the US processing centre). Can anyone tell me how soon they received their supporting documents back? As I understand these come before the new passport? I need them to get on with my husband's settlement visa.

IIRC I got mine back shortly after the passport arrived.

The passport is couriered from the UK, the support docs get surface mailed from Washington, which arrives first is probably a lottery depending on how long they spend at the border and what sort of mood Canada Post is in.

In my case it was about 6 weeks, but based on recent threads its a bit faster than that at the moment. Maybe a month?

One more question -- when did they take the payment? My docs arrive there a week ago and no payment taken yet. Thanks

Sorry dont recall. I imagine its around the time it gets processed..

Payment gets taken before anything else is done. If they haven't taken payment yet, there may be a problem with your card. Or they're just busy.

any ideas whether I can call them to check if there's a problem? I see the package arrived Jan 28th. I told my bank not to block any payments their way...

Contact your bank and ask them if they have blocked any payments. If the answer is no, then you know they haven't tried yet.
