Parents want to move here
Hi;
I've lived in the U.S for the past 6 years and have permanent residency. My parents want to move here to be closer to their grandson. What is the best way (if any) for me to help my parents move here to be closer? Can I sponser them or do I need to be a citizen?
Thanks in advance.
Rick

Thanks. Looks like I need to become a citizen and it may take a while, huh!

Re: Parents want to move here
Health Ins. will be about $1100 per month with BCBS of IL.
I've always dealt with the STL office and its been pretty quick on the most part. During the application procedure, can they just move here or do we have to formally wait for the issuance of their visa?
This means I have to file for my citizenship - anyone have a clue how long that takes right now and the cost?
Thanks again for all your replies.

Darn formalities.
J just gave you the answer to your 'how long'. You can find the other information at uscis.gov under 'Learn About US Citizenship'. Please be sure to read the Guide to Naturalization to see if you qualify. The fees are listed under form N-400.
