Panic - K1 I-94 expires
We got the K1 visa. She arrived on April 12th. We got married June
24th (2006) and I'm just now getting around to filling out the AOS - I
haven't sent it in yet. We're traveling to Atlanta for a week and the
only photo ID she has is her passport which, as I now look at it, says
the I-94 is valid until July 11, the day BEFORE we come back. My fear
is that Security at Atlanta will see that date on the 12th and detain her.
What do I do?

I travelled numerous times within the US and it was never looked at.
So don't stress...

They don't care - she'll be fine.
Once, I travelled, and I showed my J1 visa (it was expired and had a
"D/S" I-94 with it - but the security guy didn't look at my I-94 at any
point).
I show him my visa.
Security guy: Your visa is expired
Me: Yes, I have an immigration paper (DS-2019) showing that I am
legally here.
Security guy: I don't care about your immigration status, all I want is
an unexpired photo ID.
Me: All right, have a look at the front page of my passport - the
passport itself is still valid for another 5 years.
Security guy (after looking at the said page): All right, you can go.

What security at the Atlanta airport? She does not go through CIS security at the airport on an internal flight. They only need to see the front cover of her passport with her photo on it and then it is only the airline itself for proof that she is the person who is named on the ticket.
Stop looking for problems where there aren't any.

Jim,
She'll be fine. I recommend you keep a copy of your marriage license
inside her passport just for ease of reference. But She is not here
illegally since you are married.
An expired K-1 only means the marriage should have happened or she must
return, it doesn't mean she has to do anything else while waiting for
the AOS process, or filing out the paperwork.
My wife thought we surely must have to get a stamp or something in her
passport to say she was here legally now, so we actually went to the
immigration office and they confirmed there is nothing for her to do
but apply for AOS and keep copys of the I-797 for reference. THere is
no time set for filing by the way, they just say,,,as soon as possible.
Good Luck and relaaaax! Everything will be fine
