Out of Status waiting on extension request?

I submitted my I-539 on Sept 9th 2000 to extend my B1 visa four another 6 months
(March 9th). I'm still waiting (April 8) to hear from the INS Texas service center.
Am I out of status at this point?

Your status is 'pending' If your petition is denied, you'll have to leave the US
immediately. If granted, chances are they'll give you 6 months from the date they
started processing it.
