Default Order to apply

I apply (for my UKC husband) using the I-130 here in the UK. Once we've applied, they
send us back a form saying that we've applied. I read on one website that we could
then move to the USA and file the last form there.

Is that correct? Should we wait until everything comes through to the UK first?

(We're trying to plan an approximate timeline, so we know when things like clearing
house need to be done by.)

Any help welcomed! (And thanks to people who answered my first question.)

Default Re: Order to apply

The quickest way to do it seems to be to apply in the UK but you can only do that if you (The USC) have been resident in the UK for 6 months.
What we did, having applied, was that my wife then went back to the States to "set up domicile" ie: get somewhere to live, a job,
car etc.
Of course this meant we were apart for about 4 months in total
(I'll be with her in about a month) if you can stand that ???
The benefit of this is that if your UK spouse then passes the interview/medical etc (as i did last week) he will arrive in the US
with the instant "right to work" with a green card to follow shortly
after arrival.
If you both go over there to continue the process
a/. It can take a lot longer
b/. You have to adjust status which will mean that he may not be able to work for a considerable amount of time.

I hope this helps.
