MVStolar!
Hi MVStolar!! Haven't seen your name here for awhile! Have you had ANY news? Seems to me I read once that there were some "in-between back and forth" happenings with your petition rather than no news at all, but it's been awhile, so wondered if you've had any update? You definitely need an approval, as does k1filer!!! We're all rooting for you both!!!

Re: NSC prisoner
Nice to hear of someone else with a July NoA from the NSC. The date on mine for my I-130 is 7/23/02. Processing time on the back of the receipt was 160-190 days. Processing time listed when I check the online case status is 250-280 days.
Never did get around to filing a K3 but have been advised now that it would be a waste of money because by the time they get to it in MSC, our I-130 will probably be approved out of NSC.
So, they way I'm trying to keep myself from going out of my mind is to say to myself (and my husband), either we'll see each other in the States in September or I'll go once again to Cairo to see him and our family.
Don't know what else to do. Tried the Congressional route and only one senator is helping. The other one and my congressman wrote letters back to me saying too bad the BCIS is horribly backlogged - nothing we can do - so sorry. The one who's helping tells me he spoke with someone in the NSC on 4/8/03 who said my case would be finished in 30-45 days. That meshes with the online case status but not the official notices posted by the attorneys showing the NSC is only working on I-130s from 5/28/02 or before. How accurate are those postings? Should I believe the senator's staff person? I'd love to but I'm so afraid to get my hopes up.
Thanks for listening,
Patty

He punched in the computer and told me our file was on an a agent's desk and was put there on 4-17-03. What is everyone's experience. Do you think it really went to the desk on that day, or do they tend to just say thinks that fit the moment? Sorry guys, I just want this to get moving is all !! The agent mentioned it takes 2-3 weeks once it gets to an agent. One week almost done !

Re: NSC prisoner
what does one worry about?? i'm very worried because it's been 226 days and
still a big fat nothing from nsc
1st noa nsc 129f 9/13/02
2nd...no rfe, no approval, no nothin except plenty of vague nonresponses.
so tell me and plese be honest - is there really something wrong? do we
really have something to worry about???
i visited the paris consulate and they told me to get married in france(i don't
need to be a french resident or citizen.), tell them the date of the wedding,
and they would schedule an interview for an immigrant visa. total time between
making arrangement for marriage in paris and consulate issuing visa is 3-6
weeks. god, i wish i'd known about this sooner!
i swear, i am not making this up!
so, what do we do? should we bail out of the k-1 mess and go for the DCF in
france or since we appear to be close(think i've heard that before) just wait
out the k-1 crapola?
that, my fellow k-1ers/3ers, is the $64,000 question.

Re: NSC prisoner-long
hi guys - have really missed you! i'm back from visiting my fiance in paris.
i so much appreciate your support. ain't this all ridicules? anyway, the
following will update you on the sacred and profane events of the last 2 1/2
months:
Subject: Re: Any news out of Nebraska??
From: [email protected] (MVStolar)
well guys, i'm back from paris, france. at least i had 2 1/2 weeks of other
distractions. was in hopes that when i returned we'd have a beautiful welcome
home approval from nsc. HOW DO YOU SPELL FAT CHANCE? we're on day/night 226!
here is our pathetic timeline:
1st noa nsc - 9/13/02
2/12/03 - petition is with an officer
2/27/03 - why that pencil pushing, "i" dotting, "t" crossing, bean counting
officer requested my frenchie fiance's alien file from when he lived in boston
in 1981!!!!! whatajerk!
3/14/03 - boston alien file received
3/14-20/03 - alien file and 129f petition meet. takes 6 days for them to
reaquaint. well, you, know, it it would take you that long too if it had been
22 years.
3/21/03 - "A" file and petition back with an officer
3/21-28/03 - takes officer 7 days to realize he/she's missed a bean from 1981
and a dot from 2001.
3/28-4/14/03 - petition sent to a "unit supervisor for some guidance". good
grief, where is that f......g bean and that f.....g "t" ???
now here is the real reason there have been few approvals lately from nsc. for
over two weeks they've put all 129f petitions on hold to search for that
f.....g boston bean. gotta have it. it could mean something!
4/14/03 -petition is back with an officer. am told that maybe, just maybe, that
is if they're in a good mood that day or week or year we will have a response
in 2 weeks. well, actually 3-4 weeks. looks like the bean, the "t", and the
dotted "i" have been recovered......WWS(we will see).
all the above dates and events are true. only the names have been changed to
protect those bastards!! >

Hi:
I've said repeatedly that day numbers on the NOA's and the on-line listing should be treated as peices of fiction.
However, the "JIT" reports which are readily available DO give what purports to be a "hard fact" -- the oldest case "on the shelf" awaiting distribution to the floor. The 3-15-03 report for I-129 K-1 was 10-20-02. The 4-15-03 report shows 11-25-02.
This indicates that your file HAS gone "to the floor" within the last month.
The "JIT" processing reports are supposed to be issued bi-weekly [it seems they skip one every so often]. If you see one that has a date 30 days AFTER your NOA reciept date -- THEN you worry.

Latest report from the CSC I've seen says :-
I-130 for spouse, parent,or child (under 21) of a United States citizen
11/21/2002
My daughter's petition was received 04/11/2002 but was RFE'd in October - they received the response on December 16th (they sent the first one to the wrong address so we had to ask them to resend it). Still, that's over 7 months difference now.
I suspect it will be processed right around the time the JIT hits December 16th..lol
I hope they prove me wrong, although my Congressman's aide has been on to them pretty hard of recent... so maybe ?
Sorry for jumping the thread - I just found it interesting what Mr F said.
