I thought I was all calm and had everything sorted out as my wife and I mailed out
I-130 last week. Already I'm a nervous wreck. Here's the situation: We mailed out the
petition to the following address using the INS website for Nebraska Service Center
(http://www.ins.gov/graphics/fieldoff...s.htm#BoxZip): U.S.
Department of Justice
Immigration and Naturalization Services
Nebraska Service Center
I-130
P.O. Box 87130
Lincoln, NE 68501-7130
USA Today I was visiting the US Consular Serivces for Canada website
(http://www.usembassycanada.gov/conte...avel&subsectio
n1=visaservices&document=immigrant_visas) and it said that the Petition needed to be
sent to the following: U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service Northern Service
Ceneter PO Box 82130 Lincoln, Nebraska 68501-2130
We have sent it to the right zip code but they have given a different post office
box! Will they be able to sort that out or have I gone off the deep end for no
reason? Any words of comfort would be appreciated.

Looks perfectly fine to me, though I don't believe the 'I-130' is necessary on the in
the address nor the USA if being mailed within the USA.
First of all the INS site is what any person would go by, as you did.
Secondly if you notice on the page, all of the send-form-to addresses have a PO Box
beginning with 87XXX. The only one (the last) that does not is the PO Box for general
corrospondence.
According to the INS, the only time you would not send your NSC I-130 to the address
where yours is headed to, is when combined with another form.
Seems the Consulate site probably has outdated information.
Don't worry Regards, NewYorker

Clarifying my own reply which read:

The INS site for NSC info states:
1) I-130s filed in conjunction with an I-485 should be sent to the address
listed for I-485
2) Use the box number for the principal application/petition if more than one
application/petition is concurrently submitted. For example, if an I-485 is
submitted with an I-131 and I-765, the application should be mailed to the P.O.
Box Number for the I-485.

Thanks for the reply! I checked today on the USPS site and seen that the package was
picked up and signed for January 9th. Interesting situation. I have always had usps
sent me a signature verification via fax. I receieved the fax and it stated the
following:
"The following is in response to your ... request for delivery information on your
Signature Confirmation item number .... The delivery record shows that this item was
delivered on 01/09/2002 at 06:30 AM in LINCOLN, NE 68501 to T WAY. There is no
delivery signature on file for this item. Your item was delivered to INS BOX 87130."
They, that is the INS, must receive so many different packages requiring signature
verification that it would take a long time for an individual to sign for everything.
At least USPS acknoledged that my package was delivered to an INS Box office number.
Also, I had a chuckle at the fact that it was picked up at 6:30 am. At least somebody
has an early start to there day.
Thanks again for the response. I am sure I will be back posting something else along
my path. Take care!
