Yes it is a Prank, I posted the reason on the other thread but in case you haven't seen it.

1. City of Lincoln is located in Lancaster County not Lincoln County which is located 500 miles west.

2. There are two major hospitals in Lincoln, Bryan and Bryan LGH (one system two locations) and St. Elizabeth's. The hospitals mentioned in the article do not exist.

3. I contacted my neighbor who works for the Lincoln Fire Department and he confirms that they were not called to the BCIS offices.

A HOAX.

I'm surprised so many people took it seriously when you consider it was posted from Usenet with no references whatso ever to an author, or link to an online news source or organization.

It was a troll post in the form of a fake article designed to incite worry and panic, and that's what it did. That's the problem with these boards being linked to Usenet, any prick can post relatively anonymously from there.

Yuh, too many people out there with too much time on their hands, no friends, and a sad sense of humour. I think people took it seriously because when you're sensitive and waiting on a knife edge, you pretty much believe anything. I'm not even waiting on NSC and when I read that, I was so dismayed. I can't imagine how other people waiting on NSC must have felt. Also, it's easier to believe the bad stuff with BCIS, rather than the good.

Also, remember not to long ago how the CSC was caught shredding some documents to get caught up. Just to even suspect that ne would have to re-do everything and start over would be enough to put one over the edge.

Just some input from another local to back this up... there are facts
in the story that make it obviously fake such as hospital names and
county name (we don't have those hospitals and it is Lancaster County,
not Lincoln County). Definitely a cruel joke.

hey, I wasn't on Forum only one evening and something happened without me.... it is unfair!
So I can't understand what happened??
Citizens of Lincoln, nebraska, got up on morning and didn't see NSC building?
Whether newcomers from Mars decided to rid of our Nebraska complaints which echoing even in Iniverse and made approvals during a night ?

Even I know that NSC is still there and our approvals were not out, may you give me a link to subject you talked about ?
