Not So Good Aos Interview... What To Expect When..?
Can anyone tell me what to expect when the officer gives you a 'notice
of continued service' BUT took my I-94 as well when the following
occured during the interview?
1. Interview took TWO hours. Seperate interviews with my wife and I
were conducted by the officer.
2. There were questions that were answered differently. More so, I
admitted to the officer that I do have a bad memory (especially dates)
and apologized about it. I totally forgot what we had for dinner on
Valentines and I was off by a year on how we met. Apparently, my wife
remembers well of these things.
Thing is, our papers were intact and lots of photos would prove how we
met and known each other for a long time. My wife and I did this all
without a lawyer and any coaching. We just went in and did what was
right with all honesty. BUT somehow, I got nervous and couldn't answer
nor remember right what really happened. Part of my story is correct
but the details was shady and just raised doubts (we noticed) with the
officer.
We are now totally worried and I am having an anxiety attack of what's
next to come. Can someone please enlighten us if there is hope with our
case? What's the worst scenario? We would really appreciate a feedback.
Thanks!

Thanks for the message. There's so many things in my head right now.
Some say it's a good sign that my I-94 was taken. As they won't take it
if it is really unapprovable. Is this true? Some say that the officer
was just having a thrill of the day... power tripping and all. I really
wouldn't mind that as long as we get an approval. I do hope it just
that it was a power trip and the officer did take the I-94 to approve
my case. OH well, I guess the only thing to do now is pray and wait.

I don't know a lot about AoS but...don't feel bad because you didn't remember everything. I think most women are a bit better at remembering such things (not always!), I know my fiance wouldn't have a clue when we first got together unless I was there to prod him!
Whatever the desicion, it's not the final end of ends, so relax cause too much worrying is not good for you!

You don't say where you interviewed. In some district offices separate interviews is standard procedure. In others it isn't.
Also you don't mention when your I-94 was removed from your passport and/or A/P. So unless it was at the very end of the interview, I would NOT use the removal of the I-94 as any kind of sign. It is standard to remove the I-94 and in our case was done before the interview started.
I'm sorry you had to endure this type of interview. It would have be helpful if you had "known" it was going to be such an interview but having it thrust on you can be very disconcerting. I'm sure that for anyone not anticipating this type of interview they would go into shut down mode. As another poster said the best answer would have been I don't remember instead of trying to answer with the question with a guess.
For now just sit back and wait out the results of your interview. If it is a negative response then you will proceed from there.
Wishing you luck,

Re: Not So Good Aos Interview... What To Expect When..?
Thanks for all the advice and feedback. I was interview in Downtown LA
Federal BUILDING 300 Los Angeles Street. Upon leaving the interview. I
was collecting all my stuff when I couldn't locate my I-94. The officer
said that he will keep it. We shook his hand and thanked his for his
time. And that's it.

You got one of the DAO's from Hell. The LA County Bar has an immigration assistance clinic on the third floor -- no appointments taken, they do it on a walk-in basis for a nominal fee. You might want to see them.
