The delay caused had been 30 mins on my 2nd trip to 3mins on my last. Don't get me wrong it panics me and I hate it.
I've also been a few times, for pleasure and business. I didnt have to go to Secondary in New York, no idea why as ive had to the other times.
My query was whether it would be more problematic for those on a waiver given the enhanced scrutiny under the Trump administration, there have been some high profile deportations in recent weeks.

Hi all,

Just a quick update, I sent my passport away yesterday to receive my visa, I will give an update as to when it is returned to give others an idea of the turnaround.

Cheers

Has anyone who has had a previous waiver and recently had an interview ( for a second etc waiver)noticed a change in attitude when they had an interview from the CO in London since the recent guidelines changed .?

Based on the last 2 entries added to the tracker, the most recent interviews in this forum would have been in January, pre-dating all the changes.

Hey, just wondering if there is a need to notify the embassy of a change of address? taken that long I've now moved. I didn't pay for Passport return service as I knew there was a chance of this happening.

Also, if I get a one year visa again, (if I get one at all) I'll be due to restart the whole process again in December to allow enough time for a trip in 2027.... like a perpetual glutton for punishment.

For those of us here who are lucky enough to have British passports, we can at least be thankful that we don't have to endure the nightmare of getting Schengen visas, where the duration and number of entries (single or multi) is completely up to the issuing officer, and your luck of getting a visa depends very much on which country in the EU you apply through, and what passport you hold. And of course if you want a multi-year visitor visa for the UK, the costs are eye-watering... £848 for a 5-year visa, and £1059 for a 10-year visa. We forget how lucky we are to have powerful passports.

About to break the news to my Grandfather that I wont be visiting him on the 24th May. Its been 280 days, nothing back yet and I cant risk losing my money all together by waiting another couple of weeks. Am looking at other dates, maybe late / end of July which will take me to over a year since I applied. Hopefully that will work 😭

Ahh I feel for you. Our flight is 369 days after my embassy appointment and I'm really starting to get worried.

Ah man, that's a tough one, we were meant to be away in two weeks, got very very lucky and was able to cancel fee free due to error/issue with the hotel. Hopefully you'll hear soon and can make plans,

So sorry to hear this. We are also still praying for a miracle. Genuinely can’t believe the wait times or how heartless the embassy are! We were told if we contacted again they wouldn’t reply us … it was our third time contacting (over a 13 month period!!)

Hope you get to see your Grandfather soon.

To be fair, it’s out of the consulate’s hands at this point. There’s nothing they can tell you anyway, it’s not ‘heartless’ but they just can’t help you.

Frustrating I know, but all you can do is wait for the decision and unfortunately with Trump cutting staff and extra vetting, wait times are only likely to go up.

Best of luck, hope you hear soon.
