I've never gone via Dublin, but assume the process will be the same (albeit before you fly, rather than after).

I'm on my second waiver, and I've been over a few times, for business and pleasure. I've only once not had to go to secondary, that was at JFK.

Wales44 have a good one! . From my past/first experience travelling after a waiver - when arrived at the airport - you might be sent to the secondary for an interview, they usually take their time based on the officers availability , and ask the similar question of the interview... Like when how long you will be staying and when you are expected to fly back etc - please note that they probably have that info already available for them from your int.

Thanks, let’s hope I get through Dublin in 2 hours then if I have to wait for secondary. I expect that is quieter than JFK, waiting time is less.
I am printing my whole itinerary and work schedules so I can show them when and where I’ll be before coming back on Friday.

It used to be by letter but that was quite a few years ago so not sure if it's changed now. Someone was rejected this year, should be on the spreadsheet in the comments section so they may be able to advise how they received their rejection notice.

As an aside, I submit that the use of UK ddmmyy date notation rather than US mmddyy date notation might create confusion. I tend to use the notation I learned in the US military of three letters for the month, eg today is 24Mar25.

Thanks for noting this. I have added a dd/mm/yyyy reminder in the column headings.

As an aside to the aside, if I could be so bold as to suggest that "UK ddmmyy" is actually "every country in the world except the USA and Canada."

Not Canada. Literally just the US!

And the UK date format is very appropriate for a forum named British Expats

As in so many things, like using antiquated units of measure, the US is sticking with an old-fashioned convention. Quote from a novel published in 1932;

"Most English people write the day first and the month second. Business people at any rate, though old-fashioned ladies still stick to putting month first." (Have His Carcase,Dorothy Sayers)

Hello All
Little update from me on my CEAC status, Passport sent in 12MAR 2025, Delivered to US embassy 13MAR2025-last CEAC update 21MAR2025 says refused (I checked for the 1st time yesterday)-not sure if this is final, I figured if final decision my passport would have already been released.
I emailed the embassy yesterday as I had travel planned this weekend (which I will have to scrap) and got an email back which I could not determine if it was generic or not that had this wording: Please note if you wish to request your passport back now without the visa being processed in order to send it back later to resume your application, this will significantly delay processing of your visa application. As an additional step is required, additional time must be allowed.
Will let you know if anything changes this week.

IIRC, CEAC doesn't change until it has actually been processed. So it is probably still sitting in the queue waiting for the visa to be inserted.
