Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Great to see there's been progress for some over the last couple of weeks.
Can I ask - Is it always the case that the 'Case Last Updated' date changes for everyone who's received an initial response? Thanks |

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
I have just received my email to send passport for visa issuance. Do I need to send anything else other than the instructions they sent and my passport?

Fantastic news. Just follow their instructions to the letter :-)
jools “Please submit passport for visa issuance. Please note that you have 30 days from today in which to resubmit your passport. If your passport is not received within this time your application will experience even further delays. You are NOT required to submit any other additional supporting documents.†so I am presuming that a passport is all I need to send? |

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi all, wanted to update on my case - I picked up my passport yesterday with a 5-year visa in it, which was pretty surprising. Good luck to all those still waiting!

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi guys
Do you know if there’s any expedited process for FIFA World Cup tickets holders? My timeline: 1st April bought World Cup tickets, 5th April booked appointment for 26 June (first available) and at the same time requested expedited appointment due to World Cup, couple days later new appointment was granted for 16 April. During appointment consular recommended waiver and advised it could take 6-9 months, so I need to “manage my expectations “ in regards of World Cup. I’m probably too naive hoping to see England game on 27/06 |

The next step will be it changing to 'issued' which means the visa has been printed and is in your passport - after that it's usually back a day or two later.

Status changed today to issued. Do they notify you that it’s been dispatched or will it just be sent out?

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi, I just wondered if there have been any success stories recently of people obtaining the waiver of ineligibility in less than 9 months?
My husband was granted a 5 year visa in 2019 and our holiday was cancelled due to covid. We booked again for October 2026 and given the timescales last time, thought this would be fine (we obviously had no idea there were such delays being reported). previous timeline- 27th June 2019 embassy appt 4th sept email requesting passport 13th sept passport released 20th sept passport Received My husband attended his London appt on 26/1/26 and now we’re panicking. He has a misuse of drugs and assault charge with a fine from 21 years ago when he was 19. He took all the evidence to the appt again in London but they were not interested in that this time. The woman said she was recommending him for a waiver of ineligibility again and we thought it would all be fine, but I can see extensive wait times. I suppose I am looking for some success stories. Thank you |

I can only comment on what I’ve seen on this group, which is a small selection of those going through the process in real world terms, but from this group it is highly unlikely. The data on the spreadsheet shows an average waiting time of nearly 56 weeks. And the trend seems to show that this is increasing as time passes. My interview was March 2025 and only this week mine has been changed to issued and I am waiting on the return of my passport. Sorry this isn’t the answer you were probably hoping for
hi, I appreciate your reply. Can I ask if you had already been issues with a visa previously and if your convictions were of a similar nature and time frame? |

thank you. That’s really helpful. Would you consider your conviction similar in nature? I can see people with more complex histories are taking longer.

No mine wasn’t drugs related. It was handling stolen goods of a minimal value when I was 21. Basically got a slap on the wrist because the value was under £50 but it was part of a bigger investigation due to other people’s involvement. Unfortunately a minor mistake comes back to haunt you with things like this.
