It seems to be paused because people from October, December, and February are still waiting and haven't received a response from ARO

Not necessarily. Don't lose hope yet. Previous reports have noted that the state has flipped multiple times, including back to "Refused", and then finally changed to "Issued".

We're holding thumbs for you.

Hi Jools,
So after this, the application was touched on the 13th, and 17th of February, then nothing until today. when it switched to Approved.
Now waiting for it to change to Issued and a receipt of email to collect I assume.

It'll remain at refused right up until the time it is issued, so could be a few weeks once they receive it.

Wow what a fantastic outcome. So they decided you did not need a waiver at all!! Hopefully you will never have to go through this process again.

All the best for the future.

Hi Jools,

I'm not sure if this means I will never need a waiver again. In 9 years I will start an application for another visa and will see where it lands.
I doubt I will ever be able to get an ESTA even though it says ESTA record cleared.

Good luck to others awaiting theres.

Cheers

can I ask why you couldn’t travel on an ESTA in the first place?

In 2013 when I did not have UK citizenship and needed a visa, I answered the question that said, "are you or have you ever been a drug addict" in the positive.
It is likely that if at that stage I was applying for an ESTA which uses the wording "are you a drug addict" that I would have answered in the negative.
Unfortunately once you have admitted to prior drug use, even if you have no cautions or convictions, it stays with you.

My first waiver it was around 3-4 months before they emailed. They were helpful actually. Then after I sent it I got a waiver for 5 years around 2 months later in March of 2020. This time around not so helpful. I didn’t get any request at all. I emailed nonetheless offering documents but got no response. This time I interviewed December 24 and was rejected January 26. You can add me to the spreadsheet if you would like. It was the standard 214b alongside the 212a reason for denial. Don’t be discouraged though with no request. People have still been granted without additional documentation requests. Safe to say though this administration has tightened up on waivers and they are not as easy to come by.

You're not already in the sheet as buddyninezero by any chance? Identical dates to yours. Could just be co-incidence

I did have another profile a while back but it was called waivegoodbye I think. For certain buddyninezero isn’t me. It’s just a coincidence in this case. I do seem to recall looking through the forum and seeing the same dates for me and another person. I would have posted a bit sooner but it was a case of feeling disappointed and putting it out of your mind really. Thanks for the spreadsheet jools and this forum generally. It’s a great resource to have.

My husband received an email today requesting passport and a new ACPO. Has this been requested before? I’m not sure I’ve seen it on the chat. Wondering whether we send a copy of the record with the ACPO as the offence is 26 years ago?

Wow that's fantastic news after 490 days. I suspect the new ACPO certificate may simply be because it has been so long since the interview that they want to confirm no new incidents.

All the best,

jools

Thanks Jools. We were genuinely shocked to get the email given the lack of responses this month particularly. I’ve requested the ACPO and we will report back on how things progress.
