NOA after e-file
It has been three weeks since we e-filed for EAD renewal. The receipt
and web site both say they will MAIL a NOA. We have not heard from them
and I'm on hold at the 800 number. Should we have gotten a NOA in the mail?
Thanks.

I haven't received one either (e-filed on June 17th). However I did receive a NOA for my e-filed Advance Parole!

Re: NOA after e-file
I was told that you do not get an NOA when you e-file. We e-filed Rajat's EAD and did not get an NOA (the NOA date is the date you e-file). And we got his EAD no problem.
As for AP ---
EDITED: Sorry - originally I thought we didn't get one for the AP - but we did!! Got the NOA in the mail about a week after we e-filed and mailed off all supporting docs...
That was around April 26, 2005.
Today our online status reads:
"This case has been approved. On July 6, 2005, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

Frist, thank for the reply.
The 800 number did finally give me a real live person. She said the on
line receipt was the only thing we needed.
Now, what are the chances of getting the renewal in 90 days? From what
I've read here I guess I should next make an appointment with infopass.
We already have a date for photos and fingerprints again.

You mean the interim EAD, in case yours doesn't arrive within 90 days? As far as I know, you can still walk in (or maybe now make an Infopass appointment) to your local office on the 91st day and request the interim EAD. Be aware, though, that the "90-day clock" stops ticking until you have your biometrics done, and then it starts again. So if you have a 2-week delay between the NOA and the biometrics, add 2 weeks to your 90-day count.
Come to think of it, a couple of years ago, there were a LOT of people going in for interim EADs. Now you rarely see that happen, at least on this forum. I guess USCIS improved issuance of the EADs?
Best Wishes,
Rene

Re: NOA after e-file
When did this policy start? Was there a press release from USCIS on this?
Thanks

He's repeated it several times since then, too.

Re: NOA after e-file
My husband e-filed for his renewal EAD in June, and he got the receipt in the mail about a week later. I've heard of some people that didn't get a receipt though. It seems to be inconsistent.

So, you are saying that I have to count 90 days from when the prints and
picture are taken? This is for a renewal. I don't have the dates in
front of me, but I think that would put us past the time the first
interim EAD expires.

Perhaps Mr. F will read this thread and comment more on how the 90-day counting is done.
