Default No stamp after Green Card Interview (Garden city NY office)

We went for the interview today, may 3rd, married since july 26, 2002, filed then too. He asked us for all the forms: taxes, affadavit of support, letter from employer, and medical, than asked a couple of questions, took one wedding photo, quickly scanned our wedding album, and marked my wife's passpot, case pending, I asked what that means because i thought we would receive the stamp on the passport right there, he said if we need anything we'll get in touch with you, I said" ok what now" he said "you turn into a pumpkin" I guess it was his poor attempt at humor, he said I'll review the case and thats it, we left I did not ask anymore questions because it was 400pm and he seemed irritatede.
So what does this case pending/review mean, should my wife and I be worried or is this standard procedure.
