Default No proof that AOS is approved

Hello Again: I posted a few days ago that my husband's AOS was approved by a phone call. I am probably worried for nothing, but shouldn't we get some kind of proof that he was approved until the card comes? Kind of confused if the I-551 Stamp is done with, I read that some are still getting the stamps. Our officer told us they aren't giving them out. Should we recieve some sort of letter in the mail (read some people do)? Just a bit concerned since the only proof we have is that phone call, something on paper would be nice. My other concern is the card will not come in within 2 weeks, if my husband needed to travel how can he? He also wants to sign back up for college, but needs some proof to show he is a resident to get financial aid. Maybe what's best is to wait 2 weeks and then start looking more into. Any suggestions?? Thanks for the advice in advance!

If you've got nothing better to do, you could go back down (make an infopass appt) and see if you can get a stamp. I recently received my green card. It took just under 3 months to arrive.

Hi:

There was a recent directive from CIS HQ to discontinue the 551 stamp for security reasons and several districts jumped the gun on the effective date. The directive was rescinded before it became effective. That was in the last few weeks and was discussed at length on this list.
