Need Visa while on OPT?
I graduated in August 2003, and my OPT begins in October , I have my EAD card in hand, The problem is my F-1 visa on passport has expired adn recently i got the canadian immigration.
My plan is to land canada this month and apply for visa to USA on OPT basis in order to complete my OPT training.
Is it possibel to get Visa on OPT and could i face any problem in getting visa on OPT basis.
PLZ reply me , i will be very grateful to you, running short of time.
Thanks

You may not even need a visa. Unless you are a citizen of one of only
seven countries, you are allowed to return to the USA by simply showing
your old I-94 (so you will want to hold on to that!) The condition is that
you must return to the US within 30 days.

You shouldn't need a visa in this situation.

Re: Need Visa while on OPT?
When I got my OPT I was told that even if the student had expired my status
was automatically extended for the duration of the OPT. You need your I-20,
your passport with the student visa and your valid employment authorization
card (OPT) when travelling in/out of the U.S.
It is best to verify the above with your school's international office as
these were rules that were effective when I was in the U.S. back in 1998.
Things may have changed since then.

Re: Need Visa while on OPT?
Your status - yes. But the visa? That was the OP's original question; his
visa has expired, and can he renew it? I'm actually not sure.
