Need Advice for N400 Interview
Dear Members,
I answered YES for Question #16 of the N400 which asked if I was arrested, cited,or detained by an officer of the law. I did this because I had a few traffic tickets (which I believe fall under the category of "cited"). I attached my driving record with the application. Now along with the interview letter, I get a letter saying that my application indicates that I have been arrested and that I needed to bring all the documents concerning the arrest.
Can I verbally explain to the Interview officer that the YES was for the traffic tickets and not for any arrest or do I have to bring a document that proves I was NEVER arrested. If so where could I get such a document...Pay a private investigator to get a certified copy of my records that checks out my background?
Please respond.

I had the exact same problem. Go to the link below for my earlier
posting. I got the copy of my driving record from DMV, I went to the
circuit court in Chicago and got the official court disposition of
what happened (I had one speeding ticket that I went to defensive
driving school, not on my record, and the other a minor moving
violation that I pled guilty and paid the fine but did not show up on
my driving record). I also went to the circuit court to get my arrest
record (which was clean). To read my experience during the interview
click on the link below. Note that in my case the officer did not
care at all, so I think that this is a minor issue, but it is always
good to be prepared.
