NEBRASKA CENTER UPDATE bad news from my senator
Dear Mr. Wilkerson:
Thank you for contacting the Office of U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell.
I appreciate your research into differences in processing times between
different sevice centers nationwide. The Nebraska Service Center has
certainly
become notorious for being the slowest service center, and fiance visa
applications are no exception.
As the Senator's representative, I am in regular contact with the Nebraska
Service Center. They have informed me that the BCIS office in Washington,
D.C.
has mandated that they adjudicate 10,000 asylum adjustment applications
before
October 1, 2003. They are the only service center tasked with these
applications. As such, the NSC has moved many of its' officers from
adjudicating
fiance and spouse petitions to adjudicating the asylum petitions. Once these
applications are adjudicated, I understand that the Nebraska Service Center
will
be readjusting their resources back to fiance and spouse petitions, among
others.
If you would like, you can write a letter to the Senator and I would be
happy to
forward your concerns to the Department of Homeland Security in Washington,
D.C.
The contact information is provided below.
Thank you for contacting the Office of U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell.
Sincerely,
Claudia Arana

Re: NEBRASKA CENTER UPDATE bad news from my senator
I just read the bad news This just makes me soooooooo mad ! Surely we
count for something !!!
This is very depressing but I guess there is nothing anyone can do to get
Nebraska up and running with Fiancé Visa, seems it's going be a hard slog to
get to our loved ones until this is sorted out !!!!
Thanks for sharing this news, eventhough it's not the happiest

Hi:
The posting was not entirely accuarate. Nebraska does NOT do "asylums" -- what they DO is adjudicate are the AOS's for people who have already been granted asylum. BTW, asylees can't even file AOS until one year has elapsed since the grant of the asylum and then there is a 10,000 annual cap -- the waiting list is nearly five years long. Those people have been waiting a VERY long time -- and most of them suffered persecution in their home countries -- asylum isn't all that easy to get.

Shit..... I can understand that asylum or whatever it calls is hard to get and they need to wait for long time, but why government doesn't share this work with other centers or maybe to get new employees....... That is stupid if I have to wait till October 1 while they will do another work. What a terrible process it is .....
Shit
sorry for curses but i lost my patient and I can tell such way only in this situation!!! We are people like they are also!!!

Small world.... I spoke with Claudia just the other day about a differn't subject. Although, this is sort of bad news about NSC, Claudia herself and Maria Cantwell's office staff are super people to deal with. I would write the letter and have her forward it...

Olenka, Olenka, Olenka, what happened with the potty mouth Hang in there, I know just how you feel and I was there not long ago. Remember, my NOA 1 from NSC was Dec 16th. Right now you are in the same timeframe as I was when I found out that I was approved. It is going to be anyday for you, just do the math and you will see....

I have today 190 th day it is difference in 1,5 months with people who had received there approvals from December. It is the reason why I am so upset and mad. Plus I know that they did a lot on first week of February.
So you see we are different in timelines do a math

Same thing was going on a few months back in Texas, people started
protesting by the service center building at first every month, then
every two weeks.... The protesters got approved while everyone else
was still waiting - they thought it would be a good way to get rid of
them... TSC sufferers, correct me if I'm wrong, I didn't really follow
the latest news from Texas for the last couple of months.
