Naturalization
Regarding the application for naturalization, Which date is counted towards the 5
years period? The date stamped on the GC or the Date Residency was accorded.

The date you adjusted status to permenant resident is basically the date that appears
on your green card. Am I to understand that you have two different dates??? Ranjini

Re: Naturalization
Welll... I assume they should be the same, but not sure for other people, I do have
two different dates - I have my passport stamped on
1/15/1997, the date I became LPR, however, in the back of my green card, it is dated
1/17/1997.
Okay, so it was only 2 days difference, not really a big deal.

Well, the approval date of the I-485 should be the correct date. That date also is
supposed to be on the card. If it is not, you can get it fixed by filing an I-90 with
your local INS office.

Re: Naturalization
Thanks all for the info, there is a big difference between them, about 18 months. I
figured, the green card date was wrong.
