Does anybody have any experiences on how long will it take the NVC to send the approved petition to the counsulate. I got my k 3 visa approved on NOV 19th 2002

NVC recieved the approved petition on December 4th 2002 and also they gave me the case number for the counsulate.

When i talked with NVC they said 2 to 4 weeks they will send this to the embassy. Does it take 2 to 4 weeks for them to send the approved petition to the Chennai embassy (India).

An email is what it takes for NVC to notify the embassy or consulate. Now you can imagine it may take 2 to 4 weeks for someone to actually type an email and press the send button and for someone on the other end to open us his/her email box and get the information. OR, if you will, you can think of the fact that an email would take one or two minutes to zip over from NVC to embassy.

Hi everyone,

I just read that actually yes, the NVC will email the consulate, but after the case going through a security check (another one), maybe thats why they are saying can take up to 4 weeks to get there, but hopefully wont be like that. keeping in mind I was told case take up to 3 months to get to NVC and are getting there within 3 weeks or so after approval.

Hope everything will go fast and smooth for everyone of us being so far from the loved one.
