Name change during I-485

Dear All,
My I-140 (EB1 OR) got approved on April 27th, 2001. Now I am ready to start
processing I-485. At the same time we would like to change our daughters family name.
Sounds strange but in our country the endings of the names in my and my daughters
names are different and would like to make them the same to avoid confusion in the
future. First I will get her a new birth certificate and passport with the new name.
But that process will take some time. I wonder if I could submit everything for I-485
with old daughters name and then send to INS some kind of amendment when new document
will arrive. Will this slow down my I-485 process?
