Default N400 when I90 pending?

About 4 months ago I filed an I90 to replace my 21 year old green card that was stolen by a pickpocket.

I'm now planning to file an N400.

Should I wait until the replacement green card is issued (probably another two months before filing the I90?

Or will the I90 processing be unaffected by an N400 in the pipeline?

thanks,

No, you don't need to wait until you get a replacement Green Card as long as you've had a GC for at least 3yrs"married to usa citizen" or 5yrs.

Friend of mine applied for Green card replacement almost a year, and he's still waiting for it. It just got lost in the mail.

Good luck all

You don't have to wait to get your card again. I'm in the same predicament. I asked an INS officer if that would be a problem and he said that it would not be as long as I had my I90 receipt at the time of interview. By the way, I submitted my I90 application on June 1, 2003 and I still have not heard anything about it. I submitted my N400 a month later.

Wow, heard nothing on an I-90 in over a year! That certainly would seem to suggest that filing an N-400 delays an I-90.

The INS is currently quoting a processing time of 140 to 180 days for an I-90 in California. I'm presently 150 days into that, so I think I'll wait a bit.

You are going to need your green card when you do your fingerprinting. I went to do mine exactly 2 months after filing, so keep this in mind if you are considering filing.
