Being divorced from a USC does not make you eligible for naturalization. Have you been a PR for 5 years? If so, check A.


The "resident since" date on your GC.


You not only count the days in between, but the day you left and returned also. You were gone 15 days.

According to the M-476 (page 24) partial days in the US count as whole days so I'd say it was 13.

Yup... that's what it says. By that reasoning, if you went from Detroit to Windsor on Saturday and returned on Sunday, then you never actually left the US.

I suggest it really only matters if someone is cutting a very fine line with respect to the physical presence requirement.

I guess more is better then less, I would not think it a problem but when you enter they sometimes ask you "how long have you been away", and wrote that amount of days next to the entry stamp, in hindsight I may well of been a day out here and there, but as you say Ian probably more worrying if I was near the physical presence requirment!

Then I have a accident claim that was over $500 so I better get a DMV report and include that with the N400

How long does a DMV report take to get?
