Default N-400 application question

In 2007 I was arrested during an altercation with my (now) ex-wife. As a result of the arrest I spent one night in county jail. The charges were subsequently dropped. This leads to my question relating to question 21 on the N-400:

Have you ever been in jail or prison?

Am I to answer "Yes" to this question?

Thank you.

I think you've answered your question yourself.

Yes, it seems that once I said it "out loud" it became much clearer.

To expand on the yes answer you will give on that line, you should bring to the interview court papers and/or police records that indicate what the offense was and what the outcome was. Certain crimes, and I believe domestic abuse might be one of them, will prohibit you from naturalizing.

The charge was a class III misdemeanor, DV but as I said, the case was dismissed so there was no conviction. I have the original documents relating to the dismissal. I don't think that should affect my eligibility?
