Cindy,
As I understood it, it meant that ALL consulates get the info from NVC electronically. Don't know if it's true, but that is what I was told. Maybe someone else can offer some input on this matter.

This is great news, but I just don't think the approval will hit the consulate on time. It's okay, at least I will get to see my hubby.
Thanks for the info.

does anyone know?
On the NVC site, it states that NVC sends the petitioner(ME a USC) a letter requesting the Affidavit of Support.
Do I need to send this back to NVC or should I send it to my husband who is abroad so he can present it in his interview?

Xiomi,
The Affidavit of Support is to be sent to your husband for the day of the interview, NOT NVC.

packet#3 and interview date
I just emailed the consulate. They say they are going to mail the package to my husband.
They are still going to mail it even though I told him he already has it ready to go, since he picked it up early.
Does the package include an interview date? I don’t understand……..how have most people gotten their interview date?
Some countries, like ours(Honduras) don’t have an efficient domestic mailing system. I’ve heard of paper work getting lost which only delays the process.
Does anyone know if packet#3 includes and interview date?

No appointment necessary!!
The consulate in Venezuela said that no appointment was necessary. Once we have all the paper work done, then we just show up!!!
I hope they dont give us a different story once we are there.

I finally got in touch with the Consulate in Venezuela and yes.......
NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY once they have the info for your husband from the National Visa Center!!!
I am so happy!!!
Now only one problem, they claim that they dont have my husbands name in yet....how can this be...if NVC told me they forward the info on 2/21/03. The lady at the consualte said they receive the info through email. She said try back in 1 week. My husband will probably go for the interview on Monday.

I emailed my embassy too and they said they have not received anything with our case#. So, how is it that NVC electronically sends the files, but the embassies don't receive them for a couple of weeks???
Something's up!
