They may not actually be nurses or doctors..I know there's a local store that does nothing but sell scrubs. I've never been in there myself, but AFAIK I don't have to be a dr/nurse to buy them. Apparently they are quite comfy as I've had a few friends buy a set or two.
Guess the elastic waistbands are quite good for the ever enlarging arses of us Americans.

Very nice for lounging around home - NOT out in public imho.
Am I wrong - I believe MRSA lives quite happily on a lot of people's skin, and just gets out of control and causes trouble when they're immunocompromised by illness, or if it gets inside the person - doesn't that sound familiar?

Scrubs are incredibly comfortable. And anyone can buy them. Even come in all sorts of pretty patterns.

Why, why are people on my local news pronouncing it as a word - its a flucking acronym ffs - M R S A - is that too difficult a concept to grasp - wtf is mrsa - morons :curse:
And of course if that isn't good enough every time they refer to it its "M R S A or mrsa" - no its not - its M R S A you dickwad - and that way you only have to say it once too.

I read this story in my local newspaper a few weeks back... very interesting with regard to US V's UK on medical professional attire. When my mum worked as an RN she was not allowed to wear her uniform outside of the hospital setting... a very good policy to have.

There've been a few articles about it in the New York Times over the years, including one commenting on the poor hygiene in US hospitals from doctors etc. not washing hands and stethoscopes before treating patients. Sound familiar?
Soon you will come to know what people are talking about when they mention sensationalist media running down the UK.

Re: MRSA Superbug
My sister in law had a bad cold the other day - so they gave her a fortnight's worth of antibiotics.
NO WONDER all these little bugs are immune to it.
I mean, hell, I'm not a doctor, but even I know anti-biotics don't do ANYTHING against a virus. It's a big, fat placebo.
THIS is one of the problems with American healthcare. Stupid people get their knickers in a twist and DEMAND pills of some description. One doctor told me it's quicker to give 'em antibiotics (takes 30 seconds) then to spend five minutes argueing with them that antibiotics don't work.

They may need a doctor's note to excuse the absence from school and to prove to work (if they took off) that the kid really was sick. they may also need a note from the doc that the kid is okay to re-enter daycare or school (is no longer contagious). Been there, done that.

Nope, and most responsible docs will refuse. Still, it's a toughie when you have a child screaming in pain from an ear infection -- the studies say that most will resolve without antibiotic use, but it will take longer.
