MDUdall: USCIS issues statement about ADIT stamps
Most of you have probably already heard that the USCIS will continue to issue passport stamps, but I just received a "Statement from the USCIS" from AILA today (thank you AILA) concerning this matter. I thought some of you might like reading it. Here you go:
USCIS to continue issuing "ADIT" stamps: Washington, D.C. – Until further notice, the USCIS will continue the practice of issuing "ADIT" stamps. An "ADIT" stamp is added to a passport or an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94) as proof of temporary residency. To alleviate inconvenience to our customers, USCIS continues to aggressively pursue technological improvements to allow the prompt issuing of permanent alien resident cards without the need to issue these temporary stamps. USCIS.
