MDUdall: New thread, from the Missouri K3 approvals thread
This one was getting pretty far down in my newsreader, so I thought I'd repost
it in a new thread and add a little more below:

>>This is crazy. Due to somebody else getting into trouble why do we have
to be waiting for our spouses k-3 approvals. I hope when these people do
the IBIS checks they put in the Social Security number to atleast avoid
problems caused by names. Frist it was due to people getting traned on
how to use the IBIS system then came up the backlog of Adjustment of
Status and now names gets hit due to somebody else getting into trouble.
This is crazy. I am person never got into any trouble ,no tickets,no bad
records no divorce and also have a good cerdit history. My notice of
action is July 8th 2002. So far not heard a single word on the approval.
I also have a friend who applied for the k-3 in May 30 02 and recieved
is approval on Sept 11 2002 but still when he checked the stauts on the
automated number it says his is been processed it is taking 60-90 days
for approvals. So i think the automated number and the online is not
that useful.. Hope to hear something soon. Anybody out there with an
approval of June or July for k-3 from Missouir Service Center.

The NSC has issued some guidance on IBIS checks and submitting documents to
show identity. Here is some "copy" from their report:
As required by HQ of the INS, the NSC is conducting database searches of all
applicants, petitioners and beneficiaries associated with
applications/petitions for immigration benefits. If a practitioner (or
petitioner or applicant) wants to submit identity documents with a case filing
to facilitate this process, he/she/it may do so; however if they do not do so,
they should NOT submit them post-filing unless they're requested in an RFE.
This is because resolution of a "hit" (information from the application or
petition appears to match what is in one of the databases we check) must come
as a result of interaction between the agency that entered the lookout
information in the database and the NSC. Occasionally, we might ask the
applicant, petitioner or representative for evidence that something's been
resolved, but that will be the exception rather than the rule.
If a practitioner knows of any adverse information about the applicant,
petitioner of beneficiary (e.g., prior customs violation, outstanding warrant)
at the time they submit the case and can supply evidence documenting the
resolution, it might be helpful. They should be sure to flag this information,
as it's neither something that we normally receive, nor something that we would
typically look for.
Good luck with your cases.

What is the IBIS system? And do they really check your credit?
I know this sounds stupid but at this point I want to know everything

It's a database used to track undesirables and no they don't check your
credit history!
