I just heard from another person that the Chicago office has lost a bunch of
applcations sent in for the first 2 weeks of october. He had his congressman look
into in and that what he was told. They had to close the office for 2 weeks due to
the mail scare, and the applications that did come in were sent someplace else. I
sent my applcation in for the I-129f for the K-3 visa on Oct 5 th and i still havent
heard anything. My question is.....should i mail in another application?? I sent in
$95the first time and I know it would be a waste of money but if they cant find the
application, then what else should i do?? Thanks for listening!!!!!!!!!!

If you were in that timeframe when they closed and moved the mail, it would probably
be expeditious to re-sent the whole thing, frankly, including the fee.

The same exact thing happened to me with the nebraska service center, and my i-129f.
They received it on the first day of the mail scare, and three weeks later I found
out that they had no record of having received it, and the money order had not been
cashed. I resent the packet, using photocopies, unfortunately. This is because my
originals were lost! I wrote them a note explaining, and included a photocopy of my
previous return receipt, and money order receipt. Perhaps this will give them a
reason to hurry a bit on it. Anyhow, they had it in there system the day it arrived
this time around.

Resending is definately your best option.
