Default London and I551

Hi

I am waiting to hear from the london embassy with an appointment for a spouse visa
- has any one got an appointment issued recentley - if so when did you send in
your I 130?

Also, when you get your I551 stamp in your passport at the port of entry can you then
get a job or do you have to wait until you receive your official green card, a month
or so later?

Any info would be helpful!!!!

Thanks

Gillxx

The I-551 stamp conveys EVERY priviledge of a real green card, and with the stamp you
can work and travel freely. However, you WILL need to get a social security number
before you can work. To help make the SS card come more quickly, BE SURE that the INS
officer at the port of entry puts your A-number in your passport, as SS office will
look for this. Alvena
