Letter for interview
Hello! In October of 2003, I married my boyfriend (a citizen of India)
and we filed his petition based on marriage. Well soon after, he was becoming more and more emotionally abusive, which he now attributes to being at the lowest point in his life and he was not happy in general. Well, whatever the case may be, we got divorced. He hired an attorney and his employer decided to sponsor his H1B. Apparently last week he received a letter from the Detroit field office saying we had an interview on March 9th. We're confused because his attorney said the previous petition shouldn't be a problem. Was this just sent in error because they didn't get the information? What would be the thing to do here? |

Re: Letter for interview
Well I suppose I have a bigger heart than what is necessary. He's
getting married in August and it's an arranged marriage, and personally, I feel bad for the girl. It wasn't up to her who her parents chose for her and I don't want things to be bad for her. I know I don't even know her, but at the same time, I just don't think she needs or deserves to be punished for any of it. She's a dentist and she could be very successful here. I think she might actually deserve to be here too. I know it sounds nuts for me to think or feel this way, but I really don't begrudge anyone of happiness, even if it is him ;-) |

Then he can't get greencard through you. So withdraw your sponsor by informing USCIS or don't go to the interview. You are required to abandon the sponsor. >It wasn't up to her who her parents chose for her and I don't want things to >be bad for her. If she is not happy, she will divorce and leave him or wait for gc and get a acreer extablished and divorce. You don't know what's their plan is. If you must, just tell her that she shouldn't marry just because her parent said so. But she may be wanting to gte way from parents. But, you can't get him a GC anymore. You are not married to him. Case closed. |
